Reblog: Femme Fashionista Must Have: BCBG Max Azria Dresses

Our femme fashionista must have pick this month is BCBG Max Azria dresses. The famous bandage dress has been the “It” dress for the past few years. Everyone from Victoria Beckham to Ashley Simpson has been pictured wearing dresses from Max Azria. These dresses are for the fit and fabulous for sure and are better known as Hervé Léger by Max Azria. Make no mistake this super sexy dress will show off all of your curves. Below are some celebrities that wore the dress best.

Wearing her Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress to the launch of her perfume in Germany, Katy Perry wore one of the more classic designs. The warp dress crossed the singers’ famous bust elegantly and cinched her figure down to her knees. Perry is known for choosing outrageous outfits, but this look was toned down and perfect. We love the lavender.

Jessica Szohr wore her BCBG to a Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2011 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week last year. The former gossip girl looked stunningly fit in the black cut out and mesh form fitting dress. The daring sheer fabric on the mid section add another level of sex appeal to this otherwise simple dress.

Kim Kardashian wore this form fitting Hervé Léger by Max Azria to a Las Vegas opening. The super sexy dress is quite intricate with a nude underlay with black detailing on top. The knee length dress hugs her figure straight down to the knees. This dress from the spring 2011 collection was definitely made for Kim.

Katherine McPhee turned heads in her Hervé Léger by Max Azria nude bandage dress in New York. McPhee’s slender body looked great in the barely there dress. A+ for Katherine for looking super sexy post her American Idol days.

Britney Spears wore a Hervé Léger by Max Azria design to Wango Tango music concert last year. The super fit celebrity looked super sexy in the hot pink maze print strapless wrap dress. We really love how Britney has cleaned up in the past year and a half. We’re so team Britney.

We’re a fan of Brooklyn Decker in her pink Hervé Léger by Max Azria worn at the ESPY awards. The dress doesn’t fit the thin supermodel as tight as it does some of the other celebrities we’ve seen, but she is really filling out the top of the dress well. The tank dress look works for the beautiful blonde.

Reblog - Exclusive Look: WikiFashionista.com Street Style Video Contest Winner Zoe B. Shows Us Her Swag

Look whose winning fashionistas! Zoe B. is coming to you from Century City, CA where she’s giving you an inside exclusive look at the newest fashion goodies she’s added to her wardrobe. Zoe selected some stylish fashion accessories from, Handbag Heaven, Affordable Scarves, Sunglass Warehouse and Shiekh Shoes. Check out the video of Zoe rocking her grand prize winnings in the video. And, below is a review on the items Zoe B. chose from the sponsors of the WikiFashionista.com street style video contest as well. Don’t forget to keep checking back for new street style videos at wikifashionista.com, where we speak to real girls, wearing real fashion, in real-time.
Starting from head to toe, Zoe selected the SW Retro Style Black Sunglasses with smoked lenses from Sunglass Warehouse. This ultra cool website is where the smart fashionistas go to get the hottest luxury inspired sunglasses for less. Nothing burns more than to scratch, break or lose and expensive pair of shades. And let’s face it, we all have done it at one time or another, which is why owning luxury accessories, can leave you feeling more grief than chic. Zoe’s Ray-ban inspired sunglasses would cost her a lot more than the similar Retro shades she’s wearing in the video.
Zoe selected the Amanda Circle Scarf in Red, because that’s her favorite color. As seen in the video, the infinity scarf double loops casually around the neck creating a layered look. The thing that is so attractive about infinity scarves is its versatility. You can also wear it as a shrug, through the arms and around the neck. You can also wear it more Beverly Hills chic by lacing one end through the other around the neck. There’s really an infinite amount of possible ways to wear this piece.
Next, Zoe scored the Jamie Buckle Satchel from our friends at Handbag Heaven. Zoe is currently a working college student, so naturally she selected a handbag for a fashionista on the go that will accommodate her school necessities and transition nicely to a work setting. The Jamie Buckle Satchel has two front strap closures and turn lock claps to keep the contents of the bag secure. The two toned color block Tan/Olive handbag also has handy long shoulder strap, which gives a chic messenger bag look to it.
Last but certainly not least, Zoe went with the Fantasik High Heel Wedges in black courtesy of Shiekh Shoes. Judging by her video response, Zoe absolutely loves these ultra high platform wedges with color block heel. We love the edgy thick straps and sexy peep toe front. The Fantasik Wedges will add 5 ½ inches to your current height, so if you’re the kind of fashionista that loves to be super high like Zoe then Shiekh Shoes has what you’re looking for.

Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 RTW Collection

In this year’s fall collection Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs, the designer looked to different visions of cartoonish femininity—from hourglass-waisted, peplum-hipped, pencil-skirted Dior-era sirens to sex-shop secretaries and dominatrixes—this latter source hinted at by the tufted white patent columns that lined the mirrored runway. House of Harlot produced the show’s inventive rubber garments; sheath dresses and skirts worked in fish-scale tiers that took the material to a new level of sophistication.

After last season’s hot outbreak of polka dots, Marc Jacobs has his spots sprouting petals for 2012. He took inspiration from 1960s wallpaper prints, and the fabric was sun-bleached to look as if it had been stripped from the interior of a postwar living room. With its closed rubber pencil skirts, the rebellious, ladylike severity of fall gave way to a softer, more innocent silhouette; wasp-waisted strapless dresses and shorts suits were matched with ballet flats and athletic footwear that had satin ribbon for laces. There was, however, an underlying rigor to the collection, and printed buttoned-up-to-the-top shirts came with epaulets which were fastened with military belts—one radzimir silk dress in particular had the stitching of a parka jacket.

Marc Jacob’s collection had tremendous body, achieved with stiffly bonded or double-face fabrics, rubber, or even lacquered alligator. When they weren’t molded-to-the-shapely-body—in silhouettes that evoked early Alaïa and even Gaultier—they were dramatically stand away like that of fifties Balenciaga.

While Marc Jacobs’s playfully austere main-line collection may have moved well away from the disco decadence of spring/summer, his youth-driven Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs collection was firmly footed in the sexy, sultry 1970s. That first look on the catwalk said it all: a blazing copper-gold leather blazer atop a rusty-metallic satin blouse, paired with herringbone trousers and lace-up oxfords. And the easy-breezy blown-out hair on the fresh-faced models wearing the luscious disco-by-day ensembles pushed an earthy-glam vision of perfection you couldn't help but want to be a part of. There was also an early 80s edge throughout that was reminiscent of New York punk-rock heroine Blondie—and suggested a potential return to a more strict 80s mod-rocking New York style for spring.

Given that these clothes will hit stores in time for the holiday season, that utilitarian undercurrent offers interesting new possibilities for party girls looking to reconsider their tried-and-true cocktail dresses. Look past the sparkly sequins and laser-cut leather florals, and essentially sweatshirts, button-downs, and t-shirts are the new building blocks for eveningwear, a casual mood that’s been brewing across the board since the fall collections. With his resort rules for party dressing in mind, throwing on a striped gray-marl sweater over a hot-pink dress adorned with delicate appliqué flowers might be the freshest way to celebrate.

When he dipped into his own archives for his fall show of a year ago, the results were nostalgic and romantic. With its stride-defying hobble skirts and wedge-heel patent boots, this offering demands a little more commitment from the wearer. It was provocative and somehow more precise, and all those slick surfaces had a hard allure. Backstage, Jacobs talked about the discipline of fashion, pointing out the rigor of fitting 63 girls in one day. Disciplined is a good word for it. He had his uncomplicated fun last season, and now he's prepared to get sweaty in a latex shirt buttoned up to his throat. Give the rest of us a few months and we'll be right there with him.

Marc Jacobs Purse is Definitely Daring

If you want a designer who continuously designs items to appeal to many diverse styles today, you can go to none other than Marc Jacobs. No one could probably par up to his risky and daring designs especially when it comes to hand bags. A certain subject of curiosity Marc Jacobs purse is something that really catch someone’s attention, take for example his Spotted Teddies Shearling Hobo Bag. This is something that is quite a delight to some under the Marc Jacobs purse line as the bag really does look like a teddy bear staring at you, with black solid and glossy bead eyes for buttons on the side of the flap.

The bag is also considered to be fall’s statement pieces, though I wonder how well would it blend against the amber colored leaves on the streets and more so, I wonder how many women are willing to buy it.
The bag is all about being fuzzy with a few bold black polka dots. But of course, there will always be Marc Jacobs’s fans and risk-taking fashionistas out there dying to have this bag but it’s like clutching a stuff-toy in your hand and is really not something I would take to a cocktail party.

Since the designer of this bag is always ranging from the subdued to the funky, this bag would fall under the funky category.
When this bag was carried to the fall runway of 2011, the bag was totally eye-catching than the outfit and it’s not exactly in a good way.
The dimensions of the bag is a bit large, 12” X 11” X 6” and price is more than $1,485. It’s like buying a car although this time you’re spending your money on a Marc Jacobs purse that looked like a teddy bear staring at you. Perhaps the bag was created using only the best materials available and it’s of course touched by one of the top fashion designer in the industry but unless you want to have a bag that doubles as a pillow, maybe you can spot another bag that won’t hurt your pockets.

A lot of people are commenting on the purse that it looks like what their nieces would carry and there could be some truth in that, perhaps Marc Jacobs has gone to daring and too risky but hopefully he had achieved his goals. As for me, it’s a no buy!

Fulfill Your Dreams of Becoming One of the Handbag Designers Today

Handbags are great and a lot of women are crazy about them, they collect them especially the handbag designers made themselves. But you too can design your own handbag and be a handbag designer in your own right.
You must know that handbags have variety of designs and you should know every spectrum if you want to rank next to great handbag designers in the industry.
If you know how to combine different elements then you won’t have any problem designing great handbags.

One thing you should work on should be your sewing skills. You can buy your own sewing machine and start learning or if you already have one, learn it.
On the other hand, if you are on a budget and can’t afford a new one then why not buy a used one? Used ones are great too since they probably have a story to tell but other than that, it can save you money.

Learn how to wind a bobbin and thread your sewing machine. This is important of course, since how are you going to start sewing your bags if you don’t know how to do these? Make sure you also have hand sewing skills since this is a must.
Handbag designers are also great sewers mind you, so they can create unmistakable seams that would distinguish them. Also, invest on a great pair of scissors, they are definitely handy.

Next, you should be able to make bag patterns or you can start making them. You cans start with the simple bags like a tote bag or a simple denim purse and a drawstring bag, these are great start up projects to fire you up.

Then start unconventional bags such as recycled ones from used or reclaimed materials. Everyone loves helping out the environment and if you have fabrics to throw away, why not use your creative skills and turn them into bags?
There are so many things that one can use and turn into a bag such as a bra purse and panty bag. It just needs a little imagination.

After learning how to sew bags then you should advance to a more complicated bag and advanced sewing techniques.
Learning how to add zippers can go a long way. Also learn how to add Velcro since they are very useful especially in bags.

Whether you want to be a professional handbag designer or do this as a hobby then you are on the right track.

Five Tips in Getting That Desired Handbag at Designer Discount Websites

Drooling over a luxury bag, but know it's not in your budget? Got an upcoming job interview where you'd love to be able to flash a Prada and make a splash? We don't all have celebrity riches, but those shopping for an executive level replacement job and needing discount designer handbags for a great price will find relief with these tips from an industry expert.

• It doesn’t always pay to wait for discounts

Certain brands like Louis Vuitton or Hermes never have sales. EVER. So if you don't want to pay full price, shopping for them second hand is your only other option. The good news is because these particular brands never discount, they retain their value. This means you can always get a reasonable amount of cash back if you tire of your bag's design down the road. It also lets you know to be very wary if you see a bag listed as belonging to that label for a price that's too good to be true.

One exception to this rule is Coach. They are known to discount, and also have outlet stores, making them a huge bargain on the used market.

• Look around for other online options at designer discount websites

If you enter a consignment store and see a bag that's nearly what you want, ask the clerk or store owner if the shop has an online presence as well. Chances are the store's inventory runs much deeper than what you see on the shelves. There are designer discount websites where more of the shop’s inventory is sold. This is good news if you're looking for loads of options within a certain price range, and the items on the shelves aren't quite meeting your needs.

• Buyer beware

It's a jungle out there, and counterfeiters are more sophisticated than ever. Going crazy with your credit card at online auction sites might not be your best bet unless you know for sure the seller is reputable. In high-end consignment stores, ask if they have someone who authenticates bags on duty. Experienced professional sellers of luxury items shouldn't balk at this request. If one isn't available, snap a high-quality photo and head on over to one of those reputable forums where handbag experts will give you their opinion on an item's authenticity. For free.

• Look for a guarantee of authenticity

Any luxury reseller worth their weight in buttery leather should be willing to offer a 100% money back guarantee when it comes to the authenticity of one of their handbags. If they won't, it's a huge red flag that the item in question is not a safe purchase.

• Cash in on your closet

Vintage bags in mint condition might perform better than other financial investments. Who knew? While I wouldn't recommend anyone to start planning their retirement by investing in designer pocketbooks, I did find the following anecdote of interest. A designer discount websites client had a smaller Louis Vuitton item in her closet purchased in the 1980s for less than $300. They resold it for her for over $500. T hat’s not a bad deal right there.
